SEE and drawvalue changes and "implied line" in place of what your mind THINKS is a line. It is very rare that we SEE an actual line, but rather a change between two shapes of value where we think a line is. In observational drawing, it is important to draw the light and shadows we SEE rather than shortcut and allow our mind to define the objects, this drawing what we THINK we see. Dont rush, I would rather you take on a less complicated composition and focus on lightsource, edgework and craftsmanship with technique so you can really focus on what lightpatterns and form you are SEEING.
Karrie said it best, you took on a pretty complicated composition. You may also want to take a look at proportion of the porch, it seem a little big, great job on detail of the table though, and the railing things, maybe next time though, focus on it more abstractly, squinting helps me see proportion easier. Then focus in on the details. 🤟👍 just a thought
Thoughtful feedback @patrick rainey . Good things to consider @gomezp32 @gomezp32
