A sneak peak into the end of a relay race, what struck me most about this scene was the unity between the running of young surfer girl and the movement of the waves. Tracking the reflections of light and shadow on the dramatic crests and troughs of crossing currents was so enjoyable to paint. I love how the immediacy of the action contrasts with the sweet peace of the color palette.
